3.5cr repairs face rain test as GMC hostel leaks again

Bhopal: After a three-day break, Bhopal witnessed strong winds and thundershowers on Saturday evening. However, the city continued to experience humid conditions as temperatures rose amid the absence of significant rainfall, while the wait for the monsoon’s arrival in Madhya Pradesh continues.The Meteorological Department said conditions remain favourable for the southwest monsoon to progress further into parts of the north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, remaining areas of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, along with some regions of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next three to four days.Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3°C on Saturday, around two degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 24.8°C, close to the seasonal average.According to the forecast for Sunday, the city is expected to see partly cloudy skies with a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and light rain during the evening. Temperatures are likely to remain around 37°C during the day and 25°C at night, with average wind speeds of nearly 12 kmph.The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Chhindwara and thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind alerts for several districts, including Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, Sagar, Shahdol, Mandla and Seoni.The department has predicted no major change in weather conditions across Madhya Pradesh over the next four days.
