Chief justice Lisa Gill administered the oath of office to the three appointees at a special ceremony held in the first court hall of the court
Vijayawada: Judicial officers Gandham Sunitha, Alapati Giridhar and Chintalapudi Purushottam Kumar were sworn in as additional judges of the Andhra Pradesh high court on Monday. Chief justice Lisa Gill administered the oath of office to the three appointees at a special ceremony held in the first court hall of the court.Registrar general (RG) Parthasarathi read out the warrants of appointment issued by President Droupadi Murmu before the swearing-in ceremony. With the appointment of the three additional judges, the working strength of the AP high court has increased from 29 to 32 against a sanctioned strength of 37 judges.The ceremony was attended by advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, additional advocate general Sambasiva Pratap, public prosecutor Menda Lakshminarayana, additional solicitor general Challa Dhananjay, high court advocates ssociation president Vasireddy Prabhunadh, registrars, advocates and court staff.Family members of Justices Gandham Sunitha, Alapati Giridhar and Chintalapudi Purushottam Kumar were also present. Following the ceremony, advocates, relatives and well-wishers congratulated the newly sworn-in judges and presented them with bouquets.
