3 arrested for teen’s gang-rape in Sundargarh district

Rourkela: Police in Sundargarh district arrested three men on Wednesday for the alleged gang-rape of a 17-year-old girl on Tuesday.Sundargarh SP Amritpal Kaur said the girl had gone to an open area around 3.30 pm to relieve herself when the three allegedly approached her, pinned her down and raped her one after the other.

She later narrated the incident to her parents.The girl and her mother reached the police station around 7.30 pm and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered under relevant sections of BNS and Pocso Act.The accused, aged 25, 24 and 23, were arrested on Wednesday. Investigation is under way, the SP said.
