3 B'luru youths drown in Hassan backwaters

Three youths from Bengaluru-Charan (20), Milan (23) and Manikantha (20)-drowned in the backwaters of Hemavathi reservoir in Hassan district Sunday, police said. Ten youths had visited Dharmasthala, and had stopped at the dam while returning.

Cops said some of them went into the water without realising its depth and allegedly did not know how to swim. Rescuers later retrieved their bodies. pti
