3 kids drown in BSF camp trench in Churachandpur

Churachandpur: In a tragic incident, three children drowned in a deep water-filled trench dug for a fencing foundation by the BSF inside the STC/BSF camp campus in Churachandpur at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday.The victims have been identified as Sangminthang (3), son of Thanggoulien; Lunminlal (5), son of Thanggoulien; and Kapminlen (3), son of Paulalmuon. All three were residents of Bezer locality in Gangpimual village, according to a source close to one of the families.The children had gone to play near the trench when the incident occurred. Relatives were informed of the tragedy at around 2:30 pm.After being pulled out of the water, the children were rushed to the district hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.Among the three, Sangminthang and Lunminlal were siblings studying in preparatory and nursery classes, while Kapminlen had not yet started school.
