3 youths held with brown sugar in Dumka

Dumka: Three youths were arrested with brown sugar in a raid at the +2 High School Stadium in Hansdiha on Sunday. The accused, identified as Sahadat Sheikh, Mohammad Basir and Aryan Sheikh, all aged 19, were forwarded to judicial custody on Monday, police said.

They are residents of Dudhani locality under Town police station limits.A police team led by Jarmundi sub-divisional police officer Naval Kishore Singh carried out the raid based on a tip-off. The youths were sitting in a room and were nabbed after a brief chase as they attempted to flee. Around 9.72 grammes of brown sugar, packed in three pouches, were recovered from them during the search. “More arrests will be made based on the information provided by the accused,” Singh said.
