44,646 smart meters installed in Rajahmundry circle, says APEPDCL SE

Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) Superintendent Engineer, Rajahmundry Circle, K. Tilak Kumar on Friday said that smart meters are being installed only with the consent of the consumers.

Speaking to media persons at a press conference here, he said that as many as 44,646 smart meters have already been installed in the Rajahmundry circle after obtaining the consumers’ consent. “It is the wish of the consumers to choose the smart meter. We are not forcing anyone to install it. We are installing the smart meters wherever there is no protest from the consumers”, he said.

Mr. Tilak Kumar has further appealed to the consumers to not to worry about the functioning of the smart meters. APEPDCL Executive Engineers (Operations) N. Samuel and M. Ravi Kumar were also present.
