The southwest monsoon has officially set in over Kerala, three days later than its usual onset date of June 1.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kerala and Karnataka during the next seven days, while northeast India is likely to witness intense rain activity for another five to six days.

Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected across parts of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh over the next few days, offering relief from the summer heat.

2. PM Modi To Launch Projects Worth Rs 20,000 Crore In Gujarat, Daman

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Surat in Gujarat and Daman today to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 20,000 crore.

The projects are aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the “Ease of Living" for citizens, with a focus on urban development, connectivity and public services.

3. Shreyas Iyer Likely To Be India’s Next T20 Captain

Shreyas Iyer is set to replace Suryakumar Yadav as India’s T20I captain, according to reports ahead of the national selectors’ meeting.
