NOIDA: A five-year-old boy who went missing last Wednesday while playing near a temple in Bisrakh was found dead in a pond on Monday, police said.Preliminary investigation suggests the child accidentally fell into the pond.
An officer said no evidence of foul play has been found in the case so far. The pond is located opposite to the temple.
The matter came to light when a complaint was registered at the Bisrakh police station on Feb 18 regarding the disappearance of a child named Eshu. As per the complaint, the boy reportedly went missing while playing near a local temple known as "Kutte Wale Mandir". Subsequently, police registered a case and formed a special team to trace the child.
Search operations were carried out in the area over the next days.During such an operation, a child's body was discovered in the pond on Monday. Police immediately initiated identification procedures. The child's family later confirmed his identity. Police conducted inquest proceedings at the site and sent the body for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
