The exercise follows an anti-encroachment drive carried out earlier this year in connection with a public interest litigation pending before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. During inspections conducted as part of the drive, officials observed several gensets installed in public areas.District town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia issued a notice to DLF City RWA, directing it to produce documents related to permissions, NOCs and statutory clearance.
The RWA subsequently issued a public notice asking residential societies, institutions, block RWAs and generator operators to submit all relevant documents within 15 days. The documents sought include planning approvals, land-use permissions, fire department NOCs, Haryana State Pollution Control Board clearances and permissions from DHBVN or other competent electricity authorities.“Diesel generator sets installed in ROWs, green belts and public parks have been identified during the survey. The concerned parties have been asked to furnish valid approvals and supporting documents. If satisfactory replies or requisite permissions are not provided, action will be taken in accordance with the rules,” said Madholia.Residents said while power backup remains essential for neighbourhoods, compliance with planning and environmental norms is equally important.
