At least six people were killed and seven others injured after a car sped into a crowded street festival in Chile's Viña del Mar.

At least six people were killed and seven others injured after a vehicle plowed into a crowd at a street festival in the Chilean coastal city of Viña del Mar on Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred at the Caupolicán Fair (Feria Caupolicán) in the Gómez Carreño neighbourhood, where large numbers of people had gathered for the local festival and market.
According to police, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle after entering the busy fair area at high speed. The car then overturned, striking several people gathered at the venue.

Police official Jorge Guaita said the driver was detained shortly after the incident. Authorities will conduct alcohol tests as part of the investigation to determine whether intoxication played a role in the crash.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Officials confirmed that at least six people died, while seven others sustained injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash. Police are examining witness accounts and other evidence as part of the ongoing probe.
