6-year-old electrocuted while playing in Vizag

While attempting to retrieve the ball, Akhil came into contact with a hanging earthing wire, resulting in an electric shock

Visakhapatnam: A six-year-old boy died of electrocution while playing cricket with his friends at Sai Ram Colony in Madhurawada, under PM Palem police station limits in Vizag city on Sunday. The deceased was identified as K Akhil.

The boy’s parents, Narayana Rao and Chinnammadu, hail from Vizianagaram district and have been residing in Madhurawada for the past decade.Police said Narayana Rao works as a watchman at an apartment complex in Sai Ram Colony, where the family also lives. On Sunday afternoon, Akhil was playing cricket on the road in front of the apartment building when he tried to retrieve a ball that had rolled away during the game. While attempting to retrieve the ball, he came into contact with a hanging earthing wire, resulting in an electric shock. He died on the spot.
