Following an attempted rape, a six-year-old girl was viciously attacked in Rajkot, Gujarat. This led to public indignation and a massive police manhunt that resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old farm labourer.

A family from the Dahod district was employed as agricultural labourers in Atkot in the Rajkot district, when the tragedy occurred. On December 4, the youngster was playing near the fields as her parents were at work nearby, according to the police. She was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by an unknown male.

The attacker allegedly pushed a metal rod into the child’s private areas when she yelled, severely injuring her before running away.

When the family started looking for her, they found her lying hurt next to the fields. She was sent to the Jannah Hospital in Rajkot. Her status is stable right now, and she should be released in the next two to three days, according to hospital authorities.

According to Rajkot Rural Superintendent of Police Vijaysinh Gurjar, the police conducted a thorough search, assembling around ten squads and interrogating nearly a hundred individuals. Officers presented roughly ten people in front of the child in front of the child specialists as part of the identification procedure.
