The police seized 62 motorcycles without valid documents and illegally stored liquor following cordon and search operations conducted across seven police station limits in Nandyal district on Sunday.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Adhiraj Singh Rana, the operations were conducted at Sirivella, Allagadda Rural, Kolimigundla, Atmakur, Velugodu, Brahmanakodur and N. Racherla police limits under the Nandyal, Allagadda and Dhone sub-divisions. In Bachepalli village of Allagadda Rural limits, police recovered 12 motorcycles which lacked valid documents, while in Vanikamdinne village of Srivella limits, 11 motorcycles were seized.
Nine motorcycles were recovered in operation conducted at Kotapadu village in Kolimigundla limits, 10 in Krishnapuram village of Atmakur town limits, 12 motorcycles and four autorickshaws from Regadaguduru in Velugodu limits, and eight motorcycles from Brahmanakotur in Nandikotkur rural limits. Police, meanwhile, recovered 13 quarter bottles of illegally stored liquor from a house in Regadaguduru.
Police checked the residences of history-sheeters and those having criminal background during the searches and counselled rowdy-sheeters and trouble makers to keep away from any anti-social activities. They were warned of severe action if law and order was distrubed. Police asked the villagers to report any movement of suspicious persons or anti-social elements on Dial 112.
