6yo girl trying to board school bus dies as driver moves vehicle suddenly

Meerut: A six-year-old girl was killed after she was run over by her school bus in Bulandshahr’s Jahangirabad area around 7am on Monday, allegedly after the driver moved the vehicle while she was trying to board it.Police said the incident occurred when Divyanshi, a UKG student from Madhogarh village, was on her way to school in Jadaul village. The girl’s family said the bus had stopped near Jairampur Kudena village, where Divyanshi and a few other students got down to buy snacks. As she tried to board the bus again, the driver allegedly drove off without ensuring all the children had safely got in. Police said Divyanshi was caught under the rear wheel and suffered fatal injuries.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.The family has demanded strict action against the school management and those responsible. Police also noted the absence of bus attendants at the time of the incident. The bus has been seized while teams have been formed to nab the accused driver who is on the run.SHO Sudesh Kumar said the body has been sent for postmortem and an FIR will be registered once a complaint is received from the family.
