7-year-old girl allegedly lured to under-construction mall in Rajnagar Extension, sexually assaulted and killed. Police register FIR under POCSO, murder and kidnapping charges.

A 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in a case that has left the city shaken. Police have arrested two people in connection with the crime, one of whom is a minor.

According to police officials, the incident took place inside an under-construction mall in Rajnagar Extension. The accused allegedly lured the child to the third floor of the building by offering her snacks and drinks. She was later found dead after being attacked with a blunt object.

The family filed a missing person complaint, after which police began scanning CCTV footage from the mall and surrounding areas. Based on the footage and other electronic evidence, police were able to identify and arrest the two accused within hours.

An FIR has been registered at the local police station under charges of kidnapping, rape, murder, and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Given the seriousness of the case, a special medical board conducted the postmortem to determine the exact cause of death and to collect evidence. A forensic science laboratory team also visited the crime scene and gathered key exhibits that will be presented during the trial.

Senior police officers said that the investigation is being carried out on priority. They stated that all evidence is being preserved properly to ensure strict punishment for the accused. The arrest of a minor in the case has also raised concerns about juvenile crime in the region.

Police said they are coordinating with child welfare authorities regarding the minor accused. Officials have assured the victim’s family that the case will be pursued in a fast-track court. They added that no one involved will be spared and that justice will be ensured through due legal process.
