Dismissing recent media speculation that the winners would be unveiled next week, officials stated that the jury’s deliberations are still actively underway.

The delay is attributed to the prior commitments of several selection panel members, extending the timeline required to finalize India's highest honors in cinema. The upcoming 72nd edition will recognize outstanding feature and non-feature artistic achievements for movies certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in 2024.
