The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater celebrated television's finest from June 2024 to May 2025, hosted by Nate Bargatze. Severance led nominations with 27 nods in the drama category, while Hacks aimed to defend its comedy series title. The event also spotlighted 35 first-time nominees, bringing fresh talent to the forefront.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards lit up the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, bringing together the biggest names in television for Hollywood’s grandest night. The star-studded evening celebrated the finest shows and performances from June 2024 to May 2025.Honouring excellence across genres, the winners were chosen through the Television Academy’s peer-based voting system, where members voted within their own fields of expertise.Comedian Nate Bargatze made his debut as Emmy host tonight, adding another milestone to his career. Known for six comedy specials, two Saturday Night Live hosting gigs, and sold-out stand-up tours, Bargatze brought his signature charm to television’s biggest night.

Hosting the Emmys, he said, was a dream he had long kept to himself—one that finally came true on this grand stage.Severance entered the 2025 Emmys as the most-nominated show with 27 nods, leading the pack in the Outstanding Drama Series race against Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Slow Horses and The White Lotus. In Comedy, last year’s winner Hacks returned to defend its crown, competing with Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, The Studio and What We Do in the Shadows.

The Lead Actress in a Drama race featured powerhouse performers Kathy Bates, Sharon Horgan, Britt Lower, Bella Ramsey and Keri Russell. On the men’s side, Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Pedro Pascal, Adam Scott and Noah Wyle were in contention for Lead Actor, making it one of the night’s most competitive categories.This year’s Emmys also celebrated fresh talent, with 35 actors earning their first-ever nominations. Among them were Harrison Ford for Shrinking, Owen Cooper for Adolescence, Aimee Lou Wood and Jason Isaacs for The White Lotus, Colin Farrell for The Penguin, and Cooper Koch for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Their presence brought an exciting wave of newcomers to television’s biggest stage.
