79,891 seats allotted in EAPCET 2026 first phase

Following modification of web options after the mock allotment, which ended on July 7, the Commissioner of Technical Education released the final allotment of seats under the first phase of TG EAPCET 2026 counselling on Friday.

A total of 79,891 seats (90.7%) across 176 institutions, including 152 private engineering colleges, were filled. Out of the total 88,053 seats, 8,162 seats remained vacant after the exercise.

A difference in the mock allotment and final allotment saw differences in change of college and branch in 35,402 cases. And although 8,691 candidates exercised options, they could not get an allotment. Under the economically weaker section quota, 6,335 candidates secured seats. It was reported that 87 colleges, eight universities and 79 private colleges, saw 100% admissions.

As per course-wise allotments, core branches saw 100% allotment. The maximum 27,990 seats were filled for computer science and engineering, followed by computer science and engineering [artificial intelligence and machine learning (13,732), and electronics and communication engineering (10,593)]. A 100% allotment was in 22 courses.

Numbers-wise, the allotment of seats was 54.8% or 43,784 for male and 45.2% or 36,107 for female candidates. The category-wise breakup of candidates in the allotment stood as BC-B (16,723), Open Category (16,053), BC-D (14,305), ST (8,012), SC-II (7,778), and others.
