Three CISF personnel — Head Constables Sammy Kumar and M.M. Dubey, and Constable P.K. Traya — sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Narayana Hospital for specialised treatment, officials said.
The remaining injured, including a CISF sub-inspector and the civilian driver, Virender Singh, were admitted to the Community Health Centre in Katra. Their condition was stated to be stable.
Officials said the CISF personnel, who were deployed in the shrine area, were returning to their camp after completing their duty when the accident occurred.
It is to be noted that the prominent shrine, one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in the country, has always had heavy security in order to prevent Pakistan-backed terrorists from targetting it.
