Bhopal: An eight-year-old girl died allegedly after coming in contact with a live electric wire while playing outside her house in Sukhi Sewania police station limits. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.According to police, the deceased, Shubhi Dhakad, 8, daughter of daily wage labourer Hiralal Dhakad, lived with her family in Crusher Basti, Piplia Omkara.Shubhi was playing outside her house when she accidentally touched an exposed electric wire and suffered a severe electric shock on Saturday. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital before she was referred to AIIMS Bhopal, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.During the preliminary inquiry, police found that some residents of the locality had allegedly drawn unauthorised electricity connections from a nearby colony. The wires, police said, were lying exposed at several places, and one such live wire is suspected to have caused the fatal electrocution.Police said further action will be taken after the investigation establishes responsibility for the illegal wiring and the circumstances leading to the girl’s death.
