9 passengers hurt as lorry rams into pvt bus in Gadwal

Hyderabad: Nine passengers travelling in a private bus were injured after a tipper lorry rammed into the vehicle from behind in the early hours of Sunday in Jogulamba Gadwal district.According to Manopad police, the private bus had started its journey from Hindupur in Ananthapur district to Hyderabad on Saturday night. At around 2:40 am, when the bus was passing through the Manopad crossroads on National Highway-44, a tipper truck travelling at high speed collided with it from behind. The impact caused the bus to turn over to its side.There were 22 passengers on board at the time of the accident.

Residents and police personnel immediately rescued the passengers, and the nine injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. After receiving treatment, all of them were discharged.Police said the truck was transporting a load of fruits from Ananthapur to Jammu & Kashmir.The accident temporarily disrupted traffic on National Highway-44. Police later removed the damaged bus from the road and restored the smooth flow of traffic.Based on a complaint lodged by the bus driver, a case has been registered against the truck driver, Mohammed Ashfaq_, under Section 125 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
