Senior IAS officer Anil Kumar Singhal assumed charge as Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the second time on September 10, 2025 (Wednesday), succeeding incumbent J. Syamala Rao.

In a traditional ceremony at the Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the temple, Mr. Singhal was administered the oath as ex officio Member-Secretary of the TTD Trust Board by Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary.

Speaking to the media after darshan, Mr. Singhal termed it as a privilege for any IAS officer to serve devotees as the Executive Officer of the TTD.

“By taking charge for the second time, my responsibilities have multiplied,” he said, and thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for bestowing him with the rare opportunity.

He said that pilgrims expressed their happiness over enhanced quality and taste of the famous laddu and ‘anna prasadams’, and suggested a few reforms during his brief interactions with them while trekking up the sacred town in the early hours of the day ahead of taking charge.

Underlining that development in the TTD was a continuous process, he said steps would be explored to increase the footfalls at the TTD temples across the country by way of encouraging the active participation of the local sevaks.

“Though many reforms have been brought in, there is always scope for more initiatives,” he said, and complimented the commitment of the employees and termed their team work as crucial to the institution’s success. Later, he also called on TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu at his camp office.

Meanwhile, Mr. Syamala Rao thanked the employees, sevaks and devotees for their support during his tenure.
