Patna: A N College and environmental organisation Tarumitra have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on environmental conservation, climate change, public awareness and joint research initiatives.Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly organise awareness campaigns, training programmes, workshops, seminars and research projects focusing on climate change, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. The initiative also aims to enhance student and youth participation in environmental activities and foster a sense of ecological responsibility among young people.The MoU was signed by college principal Prof Ratna Amrit and Tarumitra director Fr Tony Pendanath SJ.Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ratna said the collaboration would provide students with valuable hands-on exposure to environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives beyond the classroom. She added that the partnership would strengthen the college’s research capabilities while expanding its social outreach programmes.Debate competition at UIBMSneha Srivastava (MBA, second semester), Vaibhav Sinha (BBA, first semester) and Shreshtha Alok (BCA, second semester) emerged winners of “Debating the Digital”, an intra-departmental debate competition organised by the Uttam Institute of Business Management (UIBM) under the aegis of the IIBM Group of Institutions.
The event brought together students from the MBA, BBA and BCA programmes to debate contemporary issues of the digital age. MBA participants discussed whether national security concerns justify infringement of individual digital privacy. BBA students debated the impact of social media on human communication, while BCA students argued whether digital learning is superior to traditional classroom education.The programme commenced with an address by group advisor Prof Akshaya Kumar Nayak. Organised under the guidance of group director Prof Rohit Singh, dean (management), AKU, Bihar, the competition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognising students for their research, critical thinking, public speaking and debating skills.Journal released at PUThe department of psychology at Patna University released the 31st issue of the Indian Journal of Psychological Issues, a prestigious double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access publication.
Founded by the late Prof Sukumar Bose and the late Prof Binoy Kumar Chaudhary, the journal continues to promote quality psychological research.Editor-in-chief Prof Shilpa Chowdhary of the University of Delhi attended the release ceremony, along with eminent academicians from Patna University, Patliputra University, A N Sinha Institute of Social Sciences and other institutions. Department head S D Mishra said the interdisciplinary journal would help strengthen psychological research and academic scholarship.
