A.P. Finance Minister calls for real-time GST data access to all departments

State Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on Friday underlined the need for real-time GST data access and coordination among various government departments, with the optimal use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to effectively check tax evasion cases.

The Minister was addressing a virtual meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) formed by the Union government to review and simplify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant chaired the high-level committee. The panel discussion saw the participation of Finance ministers and deputy chief ministers from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh States.

Minister Payyavula Keshav logged into the conference from the NIC Centre here. He presented Andhra Pradesh’s AI-enabled GST tools and digital initiatives of the State government. Highlighting the use of automated verification systems capable of downloading 37 GST returns in seconds, Mr. Keshav stressed the effectiveness and wider impact of the ‘Jnanakshetram’ digital platform. “This enables creating and storage of comprehensive GST data, best practices available with standard operating procedures for enforcement and compliance of existing norms of the GST regime,” he said.
