Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer on Wednesday highlighted the importance of stronger industry-academia partnerships and multidisciplinary education, with universities taking the lead, to prepare students for a rapidly evolving economy.
Addressing the students and faculty during the first convocation of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh at Janthaluru village of Bukkarayasamudram mandal, 20 km from here, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, the Governor said the university, established after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, has opened a new chapter in the State’s higher education landscape.
He said institutions must align with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by promoting flexible learning, skill development and research while contributing to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.
HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh was positioning itself as a preferred destination for innovation, manufacturing and technology under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Urging the students to become job creators rather than job seekers, Mr. Lokesh said that Andhra Pradesh was building a future-ready ecosystem driven by knowledge, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies.
Referring to Ms. Murmu’s journey from a tribal village to the country’s highest constitutional office, Mr. Lokesh described her life as an enduring inspiration for young Indians.
