 Producer Vijay Babu says Jayasurya's film recovered 70% early

'Aadu 3', a high-budget film with time travel, has impressed with its ambitious scale. Producer Vijay Babu revealed that nearly 70% of the budget was recovered on its opening weekend, with gross collections exceeding Rs 2 crore. The film has now crossed Rs 60 crore worldwide in five days, despite a recent dip in collections.

'Aadu 3', directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, has turned heads with its scale and ambition. The film, starring Jayasurya, was mounted as a high-budget production and interestingly, diverting from the other films in the series, this third part had the element of time travel in it. As reported by On Manorama, at a post-release press meet in Kochi, producer Vijay Babu shared key details about the film’s finances. He revealed that the total budget was closely aligned with its opening weekend performance.Vijay Babu explained that nearly 70 percent of the film’s total budget was covered by its first weekend gross collection.

Grand scale and production value

'Aadu 3' stands out for its visual richness and ambitious storytelling and the film features multiple timelines and this required extensive production planning.Speaking about the initial response, Vijay Babu opened up about the importance of the opening weekend. He noted that the film earned over Rs 2 crore in gross collections during that period.Vijay Babu also acknowledged the role of audience support. He credited viewers for contributing to the film’s steady performance.The producer admitted that the team was aware of the risks involved. He further revealed an external factor that influenced their release decision, "What really gave me confidence was the trust Venu had in the project.

He understood the situation in the UAE during the US-Israel-Iran conflict and assured me that the government would stand by its people. That reassurance played a key role in our decision to release the film.

Box office performance so far

'Aadu 3' continues to perform well at the box office. The film has crossed Rs 60 crore in worldwide gross collections within five days.Reportes from Sacnilk website says that the comedy film has earned Rs 34.34 crore in India, while overseas markets contributed Rs 25.75 crore.

This brings the total worldwide gross to Rs 60.09 crore, as per reports.However, Day 5 saw an expected drop. The film collected Rs 3.25 crore net in India, marking a 54.2 percent decline from Day 4’s Rs 7.10 crore. It was screened across 1,704 shows with an occupancy of around 40 percent. The overall India net collection now stands at Rs 29.75 crore.On the other hand, Jayasurya will be next seen in 'Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer'.
