Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Malaika Arora, Jaideep Ahlawat, and many others Bollywood stars graced The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025 (IFFM) last month. The awards night was hosted by comedian Sapan Verma, who recently shared a clip from his opening monologue.

Instead, he surprised everyone by choosing a YouTube-first release. Reacting to this decision during his set, Sapan called it a “historic move” and joked that turning down over Rs 100 crore was no small feat and further stated that this much amount is what Akshay Kumar makes in a month.

Meanwhile, Sapan also hilariously took a playful swing at Junior Bachchan. He said that it has been a very special year for the ‘Housefull 5’ actor. “You completed 25 years in the industry. 25 years, out of which Abhishek spent 15 years acting in theatrical films. About 7 years acting in OTT films for about 7 years. And 3 years fighting with trolls on Twitter," said Sapan.Awards nightKhan was honoured with the prestigious Excellence in Cinema Award at IFFM 2025. His film saw him starring opposite Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles. Interestingly, it was later revealed that the film drew inspiration from the acclaimed 2018 Spanish film 'Champions', which is directed by Javier Fesser and was released in 2018.
