The hardest part for me is staying away from my family due to work

Aastha Sharma portrays a layered character named Leela in Dilon Ki Ram Leela. She finds Leela's emotional depth and complexity compelling and admirable.

Actor Aastha Sharma is all set to be seen as the female lead in Dilon Ki Ram Leela, a role she describes as one of the most layered characters she has played so far. According to the actor, it was the emotional depth and complexity of Leela that made her say yes to the show.“Leela is a very interesting character with many shades to her personality. She is innocent and naïve in many ways, but at the same time she is confident, fearless, outspoken, kind-hearted and carefree,” Aastha says. “She has grown up longing for her father's love after losing her mother at a young age. Because she never had that emotional guidance, she genuinely believes the choices she makes are right. But that doesn’t make her stubborn or negative.

She simply lives by what life has taught her.”Despite Leela’s difficult upbringing, Aastha admires her resilience. “She never sees herself as a victim. She is independent, stands up for herself and faces life with courage. Those are qualities I really admire.”While she relates to some aspects of the character, Aastha says their personal lives are very different. “Unlike Leela, I have always had the love and support of my family.

I’m both a mamma’s girl and a papa’s girl, so I can’t relate to her loneliness. But I do connect with her confidence, honesty and willingness to stand up for what’s right.”Having worked in the entertainment industry for over three years, Aastha has previously appeared in Swaran Ghar, Piya Abhimani and Neerja – Ek Nayi Pehchaan. Speaking about the biggest challenge of television, she says, “The hardest part is staying away from my family.

I’m from Shimla, where my parents and younger brother still live. Long shooting schedules can be difficult, but their constant support keeps me going.

Although many actors are moving towards OTT platforms, Aastha says television continues to excite her. “I’m open to films and web series, but television teaches you discipline, consistency and helps you grow every day as an actor. What truly attracted me to Dilon Ki Ram Leela was the story and the character. I’m grateful to be part of the show and hope audiences shower it with love.”
