Lucknow: Coming from families of handloom workers, tailors, farmers and daily wage labourers, some of the gold medal winners of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University overcame financial challenges to achieve academic success.
Their stories reflected how determination and family support helped them succeed.Son of a daily wage labourer, Rehan Abbas Rizvi, won a gold medal in BA Urdu and now wants to pursue a master’s degree. “Winning gold medal has given me confidence, but the next step is challenging as I need to arrange funds for higher studies. I do not want financial limitations to stop my academic journey and will continue working towards my goal,” he said.Daughter of a daily wage labourer, Neha Sharma who won the BA Hindi gold medal, said she aims for higher studies despite financial challenges. “My family has struggled to support my education and I want to continue studying to create a better future for them. We have applied for a loan for higher studies,” she said.Son of a handloom worker, Ahamad Raza secured a gold medal in MA Persian. He said his father curtailed household expenses to fund his studies.
“My father cut down on his own needs to manage my education. His sacrifices pushed me to work harder,” he said.Daughter of tailor Mohd Zubair, Khushnuma Bano, won gold medal in MA English. She said her family’s financial limitations made the journey difficult. “ There were challenges in arranging resources for studies, but my father always supported my education and encouraged me to move ahead,” she said.Son of farmer Gauri Shankar and winner of gold medal in MA Geography, Abhishek Rawat said, “Farming depends on hard work and patience, and I learnt the same values from my family.”
