ACB arrests village revenue officer over ₹18,000 bribe in Vizianagaram

Visakhapatnam: The officials of the Anti-Corruption-Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested Kothali Veeranna, (56), working as a village revenue officer Mokhasa Kothavalasa Grama Sachivalayam of Jami Mandal in Vizianagaram for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000 from the complainant Jankala Suneetha for doing an official favour.The ACB officials said Veeranna demanded the kickback for processing and recommending the online application for the land (0.013 cents) mutation in the name of Suneetha’s husband. The land was identified during re-survey, thereby including the land with the existing 0.21 cents, and updating the total extent to 0.223 cents. The tainted officer will be produced before the ACB court in Vizag on Friday. TNN
