Accused absconding since 10 years arrested

Mangaluru: Mulki police of Mangaluru city have arrested Barkath Ali, a warrant accused who had been absconding for nearly 10 years. Police personnel traced and arrested him at Sampigehalli in Bengaluru.

The accused was produced before a court and has been remanded in judicial custody.In another instance, an accused who had been absconding for nearly nine years in connection with a case registered at the Dharmasthala police station has been arrested. The accused, Srinivasalu V, a resident of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, was wanted in Dharmasthala police Station in a case registered under Sections 379 (theft) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.A police team comprising Vrushabha and Charan Raj of the Dharmasthala police station traced and arrested him from Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday. He was produced before the court on Wednesday, following which the court remanded him in judicial custody.
