Police apprehended Arjun Paswan, the primary shooter in the 2025 murder of property dealer Vijay Gupta and his driver. Paswan, arrested in a mango orchard, confessed to the Rs 5 lakh contract killing, stating Gupta was shot while inspecting land and the driver was killed for raising an alarm. Four individuals, including the alleged mastermind, have been arrested so far.
Patna: Police arrested the main shooter in the sensational 2025 murder of property dealer Vijay Gupta and his driver near Muktapur in Samastipur district. The accused, identified as Arjun Paswan, resident of Rampura ward no.
11, was arrested on Friday following a tip-off that he was hiding in a mango orchard near Rampur Dam. A pistol and 10 live cartridges were recovered from him.Sadar DSP-II Sanjay Kumar said a Rs5 lakh contract killing was arranged by land dealer Sudhir Madhan. “Arjun, who was on the run, confessed during interrogation that he and his associates shot Gupta while he was inspecting land. The driver was killed when he raised an alarm. One accomplice escaped during the raid.“A separate FIR was lodged in the case. So far, four persons—including Sudhir Madhan—were arrested and sent to jail in connection with the case registered at Kalyanpur police station,” he said on Saturday.
