A 19-year-old man accused of raping and killing an IRS officer’s daughter in south Delhi is also under investigation for another sexual assault in Rajasthan’s Alwar just hours before the murder.  Interrogation details point to disturbing behaviour and intent.

‘Perverted Tendencies’ and Reckless Spending

According to a TOI report, police sources said interrogation suggested Rahul displayed “perverted tendencies" and regularly spent money on prostitutes. Officials also believe he had inappropriate intentions toward the victim even while working at the house.

Investigators added that he was facing financial distress, borrowing money to fund online gaming and other activities. His salary, they said, was often spent recklessly, including on prostitution.

Entry and Attack

Sources mentioned the accused, Rahul, travelled from Alwar to Delhi after the alleged assault, entered his former employer’s home using prior knowledge of the house, and targeted the victim while she was alone.

Police allege he attacked her in a rooftop study, strangled her with a mobile charger cable, and sexually assaulted her after she lost consciousness.

Planned Entry, Familiar With House

Rahul had worked as a domestic help at the residence for about eight months before being dismissed over alleged financial misconduct.

Police said he was familiar with the layout of the house, the location of keys, and the family’s daily routine. They believe he used this knowledge to enter the house when the victim’s parents had stepped out.

After the assault, he allegedly tried to access a locker using the victim’s fingerprint. When that failed, he broke it open and stole cash and jewellery. He then changed out of blood-stained clothes and fled.

No Clear Motive, Shifting Statements

During interrogation, Rahul reportedly showed little remorse and gave inconsistent statements.

In court, he claimed he committed the crime for money, but police officials said this did not fully explain the sequence of events, especially given the alleged sexual assault.

Officials are also probing whether his dismissal from the job led to resentment and contributed to the crime.

Earlier Assault In Alwar

Police in Rajasthan have registered a separate case against Rahul for allegedly assaulting a woman known to him in Alwar the night before the Delhi incident.

The survivor has undergone medical examination, and officials are coordinating with Delhi Police as part of the investigation.

Forensic Evidence And Investigation

Post-mortem findings in the Delhi case revealed multiple injuries, including signs of resistance and strangulation. Samples have been sent for forensic analysis to confirm sexual assault.

Police are reconstructing Rahul’s movements from Alwar to Delhi and later to a hotel in Dwarka, where he was arrested.

Efforts are underway to recover stolen items and establish a detailed timeline using CCTV footage. Officials said further forensic and DNA analysis will be carried out as the investigation continues.
