Actor Honey Rose accepts Boby Chemmannur's apology; Says family never wanted to harm him

Actor Honey Rose has accepted businessman Boby Chemmannur's public apology over the controversial remarks he made about her. While acknowledging his expression of regret, the actor clarified that the legal proceedings against him have not yet been concluded.

She said a final decision regarding the case will be taken only after she considers the remaining aspects of the matter.Speaking to Manorama Online about the development, Honey explained that neither she nor her family ever intended to cause trouble for Boby. According to her, the situation could have been resolved much earlier if an apology had been offered when the controversy first began.

Says an early apology could have ended the issue

Explaining her decision, Honey said approaching the police became necessary only after she felt deeply uncomfortable because of Boby's remarks and conduct.

She stressed that filing a complaint was not motivated by a desire to harm him.Sharing her thoughts, Honey said, "We have no intention of harming or troubling that person. Had he simply said 'sorry' at the very beginning, this issue would not have dragged on for so long." The actor also revealed that she discussed the matter with her parents before deciding to accept the apology. She said, "I spoke to my parents about this.

We appreciate his expression of remorse and accept his apology." However, Honey added that accepting the apology does not automatically bring the legal matter to an end.

She said she will decide on the future course of the case after evaluating all the remaining issues.

Boby Chemmannur issues a detailed statement

Honey's response came after Boby Chemmannur publicly apologised through his social media platforms. In his statement, the businessman said he had never intended to offend or hurt anyone.

He acknowledged that his comments had caused emotional distress to Honey Rose and her family and accepted responsibility for their impact.In his apology, Boby wrote, "My dear friends, actually, I am a person who treats everyone with kindness, respect, love and consideration. I have never intentionally harmed or mistreated anyone and always strive to help others whenever possible. I occasionally share humour and light-hearted content on social media, but I never do so with the intention of offending, hurting, or causing distress to anyone.

But, I have come to realize that my statements about Ms Honey Rose have caused significant distress to her and her family.

I deeply apologize for the harm I have caused. I take full responsibility for my words and their impact. I have no intention of causing any pain, and I hope that by offering this sincere apology, she will proceed to withdraw the case. I ask for this matter to be considered, and I am committed to moving forward positively."

How the controversy began

For the unversed, the dispute dates back to 2025, when Boby Chemmannur made remarks during the inauguration of a jewellery showroom. Honey Rose later alleged that the comments were sexually suggestive and derogatory towards her womanhood. Following the incident, she filed a complaint with the Ernakulam Central Police, resulting in legal action against the businessman and his subsequent detention.Although Honey Rose has now accepted Boby Chemmannur's apology, she has made it clear that the legal proceedings are still under consideration.
