BENGALURU: State-owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL) will begin a two-year brand ambassador partnership with multi-lingual actress Tamannaah Bhatia Tuesday as part of a broader push to strengthen its market presence. The iconic Mysuru Sandal Soap will also be relaunched with refreshed and contemporary packaging.“The initiative is expected to help create a strong market for the firm’s products in North India,” industries minister MB Patil said. “As part of the deal, she will not endorse similar products from private companies,” Patil said.KSDL currently manufactures 57 products, including packaged drinking water. Patil said the firm has set a target of incteasing its annual turnover to Rs 5,000 crore by 2030 and is rolling out a comprehensive promotional campaign aimed at younger consumers.The company’s turnover is expected to touch Rs 2,000 crore in 2025-26.CS Appaji Nadagouda, KSDL chairman, said the aim is to double export turnover, currently at Rs 25-30 crore, and markets in Europe and West Asia are being explored, with efforts to reach non-resident Kannadigas
