The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) pressed into service several extra buses to facilitate the travel of devotees and ensure smooth conduct of Ganesh immersion scheduled for September 6 and 7.
While the Hyderabad Region had deployed 230 special buses, the Greater Hyderabad Zone deployed as many as 600 buses. According to official data, the GHZ services include buses moving from Kachiguda and Ramnagar to Basheerbagh, Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram to Old MLA Quarters, Medipally, Secunderabad Station, Risala Bazaar, Malkajgiri, and ECIL Crossroads. Additional buses will operate from Neredmet to Indira Park, Gajularamaram, Sanathnagar, Kukatpally, Borabanda, and Sanathnagar to Khairatabad and Lakdi-ka-pul, among other locations.
To ensure smooth flow of traffic during the immersion, senior TGSRTC officials have been working closely with the city’s traffic police, and other departments.
According to Sudha Parimala, RM, Hyderabad Zone, senior officers have been deputed to police control rooms, two depot managers are stationed at the Command and Control Centre, and controllers are posted at 32 key points to regulate bus operations. In addition, 64 drivers and 58 mechanics will assist in clearing private vehicle breakdowns to ease congestion.
“TGSRTC remains committed to serving the public during major city events. Along with operating special buses for devotees, our officers, controllers, drivers, and mechanics are supporting the Hyderabad Traffic Police to minimize traffic disruptions and provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation during Ganesh immersion,” said Parimala.
