Adhik Jyeshtha Purnima 2026: Significance

Adhik Purnima is one of the most auspicious days. It is believed to be the most sacred day when the divine rays of the Moon falls on earth.

Devotees offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu on this specific day. Adhik Maas occurs approximately every three years to balance the lunar and solar calendars. This additional month is considered very powerful as the month is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu that's why it is known as Purushottam Maas.

People perform various puja rituals and spiritual activities to appease Vishnu Bhagwan. Devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk dedicated to Lord Satyanarayan.

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath. 2. Clean the home and puja area before performing puja. 3. Place an idol of lord Vishnu on a wooden plank and light a diya with desi ghee. 4. Chant mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu to invoke the idol. 5. Devotees perform Satyanarayan Katha.
