District Collector T.S. Chetan on Monday (September 08, 2025) inaugurated a state-of-the-art Advanced Life Support (ALS) 108 ambulance service and urged the emergency teams to respond without delay to distress calls, highlighting that timely action could save countless lives.
Inspecting the ambulance, the Collector said that the Sri Sathya Sai District currently operates 33 ambulances under the 108 service and it remains a crucial lifeline for patients in critical situations, particularly from rural areas. The Collector said that the new ALS ambulance, operated by Bhavya Health Care Services across the State, is set to strengthen the district’s emergency response capabilities.
Mr. Chetan observed that the vehicle is fitted with high-end equipment, including a ventilator, defibrillator, suction apparatus, multi-para monitor, volume infusion pump, and syringe infusion pump. These facilities would allow paramedics to provide advanced medical interventions during transit, bridging the gap until hospital care is available. “This new service would greatly galvanise our capacity to protect lives in danger,” he said.
District Medical and Health Officer Fairuz Begum, NTR Trust coordinator Sridevi, District Coordinator of Health Services Dr. Madhusudhan and senior officials were present.
