Africa has got its first independent Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) platform, Openview Stream, marking a significant step in the continent's growing digital television market.The subscription-free platform is now available in Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Mauritius, with a phased rollout planned across additional African countries in the coming months.The platform has been developed by India's RunnTV in partnership with South Africa's eMedia InvestmentsCommenting on the launch, Manish Sinha, Founder & CEO of RunnTV, said: "Africa is one of the most exciting growth markets for the future of television, and Openview Stream has been built with that opportunity in mind.
Our focus is to support a locally relevant, high-quality FAST experience that gives viewers access to compelling channels while helping African broadcasters and content owners extend their reach across mobile and Connected TV.
