Chiefs’ Chintan, a structured two-day interaction between the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, and former Chiefs of the Army Staff (CsOAS), commenced in New Delhi on Tuesday. The conclave serves as a platform to leverage the institutional knowledge and experience of the former CsOAS.

The conclave, being held right after Operation Sindoor, has gained a lot of significance as the former chiefs shared their insights on enhancing the operational capabilities of the Army.

General Dwivedi welcomed the former Chiefs and underlined the importance of their continued engagement in shaping the ongoing transformation and future direction of the Indian Army.

Tuesday's event included a comprehensive briefing on Operation Sindoor to the former chiefs, including the synergised conduct of operations with the Indian Air Force and Navy. The briefing included the operation's execution, strategic impact and jointmanship models in detail, providing a contextual understanding.

This was followed by inviting insights from the former chiefs. The former generals were also updated on the induction of niche technologies and modernisation initiatives aimed at enhancing the Army's capabilities.

Throughout the conclave, various technological initiatives undertaken by the Army will also be discussed along with the Indian Army's contributions to the goal of Viksit Bharat. A discussion will also be held on the reforms in the human resource policies and initiatives to be undertaken for the welfare of veterans.

The former CsOAS also shared their insights and recommendations, contributing to the Indian Army's ongoing efforts towards capability enhancement and organisational reform.
