Agni Varsha exercise showcases India’s integrated combat power at Rajasthan's Pokhran

JAISALMER: The Integrated Fire and Manoeuvre Exercise Agni Varsha was conducted at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer on Tuesday, highlighting the combat effectiveness of mechanised forces operating seamlessly across multiple domains.

The exercise was witnessed by foreign defence journalists from 25 friendly countries.Army officials said the troops of the Southern Command of the Indian Army carried out the exercise to demonstrate their operational preparedness and integrated combat capabilities in the desert sector.“The Integrated Fire and Manoeuvre Exercise highlighted the combat effectiveness of mechanised forces operating seamlessly across multiple domains.

Foreign defence journalists from 25 countries witnessed the exercise, gaining first-hand insight into the speed, accuracy and synchronisation achieved by the Indian Army’s Combined Arms formations in the Thar Desert,” an official said.Agni Varsha incorporated a wide spectrum of contemporary battlefield technologies, including unmanned aerial systems, counter-drone measures, precision strike rockets, modern artillery platforms, and networked surveillance assets.

The Integrated Manoeuvre Force comprised T-90 Main Battle Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicles, K-9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers, Sharang and Bofors artillery systems, rocket platforms, indigenous ALH Weapon System-integrated helicopters, Apache attack helicopters, and a range of surveillance and strike drones.The exercise underscores the Indian Army’s continued focus on technological modernisation, indigenisation, and capability development, while reaffirming its readiness to conduct swift, coordinated, and decisive operations in line with national security priorities.It emphasised the coordinated employment of all arms, precision long-range firepower, and the effective use of network-enabled command and control systems in a realistic operational environment.
