 Ten CAE students clear GATE-2026; Priyesh secures highest rank, eyes MTech at IIT Kharagpur

In a remarkable showcase of talent, ten agricultural engineering students from Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) have triumphed in the GATE-2026 examinations. Among them, Priyesh Ranjan Singh has made headlines with an outstanding all-India rank of 38, alongside several peers who have also clinched impressive placements.

Ranchi: Ten students from the College of Agricultural Engineering (CAE) under Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) have qualified in GATE-2026.Priyesh Ranjan Singh (2021-22 batch) secured the highest all-India rank among BAU students of 38 in agricultural engineering.

Raj Kumar (64th), Pratyush Kumar (82nd), and Ayush Kumar Singh (98th) were also among the top 100.

The other qualifiers are Sanket Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Divya Kumari, Dipesh Sau, Amit Kumar Pal and Anupriya Kujur.Priyesh said, “I stuck to the basics of the subject in the initial period. Our rich library and teachers were helpful. Preparations were intensive for the past one year, but I did not take coaching.”He said that with his rank he would be able to get admission into any IIT, but he would like to pursue MTech from IIT Kharagpur.

Associate professor of the college, Uttam Kumar, said that all successful candidates are from the 2021-22 to 2023-24 batches. The GATE was conducted by IIT Guwahati on Feb 7.BAU vice-chancellor S C Dubey and CAE’s associate dean D K Rusia congratulated the students on their achievement.GATE is the qualifying gateway for MTech and research programmes at premier institutes and is also used by several public sector undertakings for entry-level recruitment into officer cadre.
