 Tailor stabbed to death in Gomtipur after dispute; three booked

Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old tailor from Gomtipur was killed late Sunday night after being stabbed and attacked with a sword during a dispute near the Indian Medical Store opposite Char Toda Cemetery.

Gomtipur police on Monday registered a murder case against Mohsin Shaikh, Asif Shaikh and Sohil Ansari.The complaint was filed by Akhatali Ansari, 25, a resident of Gomtipur. The deceased, Mazharali Ansari, lived with the complainant and worked as a tailor.The complaint stated that a quarrel broke out at a crossroads near a food stall and escalated into a fight involving Mohsin and Asif Shaikh of Rakhiyal and two local men. During the clash, Mohsin allegedly stabbed Mazharali, while Asif struck him on the head with a sword.

Sohil Ansari is also accused of attacking him with a knife.Mazharali was shifted to Shardaben Hospital with multiple sharp-weapon injuries. He was bleeding profusely, the FIR stated. Mazharali was declared dead while undergoing treatment at the hospital.While the FIR cites a dispute that escalated into violence, police said the incident stemmed from an argument over illegal parking. However, local sources claimed the clash may have been linked to the alleged sale of banned cough syrup in the area.
