WWE is set to head to France for its next Premium Live Event experience, Clash in Paris. The event will take place on August 31 at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France. The company decided to make a major move by announcing that the PLE will be available to watch in theatres.
However, their new experimentation was not met too kindly by the wrestling fans.
Major negative reactions pour in for WWE Clash in Paris releasing in theatres
Despite top WWE superstars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk announced for WWE Clash in Paris, wrestling fans were still not keen on watching the PLE in theatres. This was evident from the overwhelming negative reactions by fans on social media. There was a major section of fans who dismissed the idea of watching Clash in Paris in theaters, expressing their disinterest very evidently on X platform.
Furthermore, some fans revealed that either they would rent out a theater to watch WWE Clash in Paris or already owned a theater space in a hilarious manner.
Lastly, one fan clearly stated that they were happy to sit back at home and enjoy the WWE Clash in Paris experience via Netflix than go to a theater to watch it.
WWE Clash in Paris is a new addition to the company's list of PLEs, although it is a part of the 'Clash in' series that began in 2022.
However, the Stamford-based promotion's recent move might not fetch the results based on the aforementioned reactions.
WWE Clash in Paris is set to feature a stacked match card
So far, WWE Clash in Paris has announced four matches. Roman Reigns will battle the man who has been stealing his sneakers, Bronson Reed, in a one-on-one showdown. Simultaneously, longtime friends and now foes, Sheamus and Rusev, will collide in a Good Ol' Fashioned Donnybrook match. Another singles match will see John Cena square off against the ever-brash and cocky Logan Paul.Lastly, Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight title in a Fatal 4-Way against CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. Originally, Naomi was set to defend her WWE Women's World title against Stephanie Vaquer; however, the match was cancelled after Naomi revealed her pregnancy on the August 18 edition of RAW.
