Air India plane with 242 passengers on board crashes near Ahmedabad airport

An Air India passenger aircraft carrying 242 passengers crashed near Ahmedabad airport shortly after take-off on Thursday. The Boeing 787 was en route to London when the incident occurred. Emergency services, including seven fire engines, have been rushed to the spot. Thick black smoke is visible from the crash site, which is in the immediate vicinity of the airport premises.
