New Delhi: Samsung has recently started rolling out its latest support for Android Quick Share and Apple AirDrop interoperability for the Galaxy S26 series in India, by allowing users to share files with an iPhone wirelessly without relying on any third-party application.

Apple’s AirDrop support is initially available on the latest Galaxy S26 series, with the extending to additional devices to be announced at a later date. This feature began rolling out on March 23, started in South Korea, and is now extending to more regions, including India.

Samsung has already mentioned that this rollout will extend later to regions by including Europe, Hong Kong, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. Its availability and timing may vary by region. The supported Android devices can send files to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac in a way similar to how AirDrop works within Apple’s ecosystem. This transfer happens directly between devices and does not require an internet connection.

Samsung stated that, “This feature does not use the workaround, the connection is direct and peer-to-peer, which actually means users’ data is never routed via server, shared content is never logged, and no extra data is shared.” To use this latest feature, the Apple user needs to set AirDrop to Everyone for 10 minutes on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Android device users can open Quick Share, choose a nearby Apple device, and send files. This recipient must approve the transfer before it starts. This system also relies on the combination of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to create a direct connection between devices.

iPhone AirDrop support on the Samsung Galaxy devices is not enabled by default, unlike the supported Google Pixel devices. Rather than, the users have to manually turn on the separate option in Quick Share settings, which is called Share with Apple devices.
