Professor Rajeev CHoudhary
Raipur: The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, has appointed Prof Rajeev Choudhary of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Chhattisgarh, as chairman of the national committee for allocation of AIU sports championships for the 2026–27 session.
Prof Choudhary is currently Dean Student Welfare, Head of the School of Studies in Law, and Head of the School of Studies in Physical Education at state-run PRSU. The AIU committee will evaluate proposals submitted by universities nationwide and decide host allocations for various inter-university championships. The assessment will consider sports infrastructure, accommodation, transport arrangements, medical support, availability of human resources, and prior experience in hosting major sporting events.Prof has competed in the national kabaddi championships three times, winning one gold and one bronze medal. At the All India Inter-University level, he has represented his university in Kabaddi, Wrestling, Judo, and Weightlifting, and captained university teams in Judo, Wrestling, and Kabaddi. In Judo, he won a bronze medal at the All India Inter-University Judo Championship and holds a Second Dan Black Belt Diploma.
