Bollywood star Ajay Devgn kicked off Gudi Padwa celebrations via social media, spotlighting Puran Poli, the cherished Maharashtrian fineness representative of the festival. He shared an image of a hot plate of the dessert, glistening with ghee and accompanied by flavored milk, presented on a banana leaf on a wooden table.

Ajay Devgn's family ties to Maharashtra

Ajay Devgn is married to actress Kajol, who has Maharashtrian family roots. From her mom's side, Kajol comes from a famous Marathi film family.

Her mother, Tanuja, is a well-known veteran actress, and her grandmother Shobhana Samarth and aunt Nutan were big stars in Indian movies. The duo married in 1999 in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony at their home in Mumbai. They have two children: daughter Nysa Devgan and son Yug Devgan.

In his career updates, Ajay recently appeared in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ and is now preparing for ‘Golmaal 5’ and ‘Drishyam 3’, plus other upcoming projects. Just days ago, Ajay and director Rohit Shetty revealed the fifth chapter of their popular comedy series, ‘Golmaal’. The film will reunite the core cast, including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and bring back Sharman Joshi from the original ‘Golmaal’.

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar also joins Golmaal 5.
