In Son of Sardaar 2, Deepak Dobriyal’s transformation into a woman is so convincing, it sparked confusion both on and off the set. From mistaken identities to unexpected washroom mix-ups, the cast had plenty of laugh-out-loud moments—many of which were shared during their appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Deepak Dobriyal’s Unrecognisable Transformation

On the show, Sanjay Mishra recalled mistaking Deepak for Kubbra Sait on the Son of Sardaar 2 set. “Khoda pahaad, nikla Deepak Dobriyal,” he joked, adding that Dobriyal kept everyone entertained and was treated extra nicely in his convincing female avatar.Ajay confirmed that Dobriyal plays a woman in Son of Sardaar 2. Ravi Kishan noted that Dobriyal looked so convincingly beautiful that several crew members, including tall foreign henchmen and even a 6.5-feet Sardar, were smitten.

Dobriyal remained in character throughout the 40-day shoot, impressing everyone with his dedication.

Dinner in Disguise

Devgn shared that Deepak often stayed in his female costume and wig even after pack-up, drawing plenty of attention during cast dinners. Dobriyal explained it was simply more convenient, as his hotel was far from the restaurant and changing would have meant extra travel time.

Washroom Confusion

Mrunal admitted she would often blush seeing Deepak in his female get-up on the set of Son of Sardaar 2. She recalled moments when he’d walk into the men’s washroom dressed as a woman, leaving the rest of the cast worried about the reaction inside. Ajay Devgn added that men actually screamed on seeing him.

In another incident, Dobriyal was mistaken for a woman by a lady in the washroom, who even took him along to the ladies’ section—until Devgn stepped in to clarify that he was, in fact, a man.Son of Sardaar 2 is the sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, directed by Ashwni Dhir. The original starred Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and the late Mukul Dev. It followed Jaswinder “Jassi” Singh Randhawa (Devgn), who returns to his village in Punjab from London to sell his ancestral land, only to face unexpected twists. The film was a box office success, earning ₹161.48 crore worldwide.
